Jake Boxer

As a founding member of our Board of Advisors, Jake Boxer has been guiding the 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Leadership Team for over seven years. He is President of Boxer Capital Corporation and Director of several other related companies; focusing on acquisition, financing and structuring commercial and residential real estate throughout Canada and the USA, creating and increasing value for shareholders. Jake has handled over $100 million in acquisitions and dispositions in the past few years. His previous positions in project management, investment banking, and business planning in North America, Europe, and Asia have provided him with a wide range of experience. Jake holds a Bachelor of Science in Cellular Biology, an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Masters of Philosophy in International Relations. Jake serves in numerous volunteer roles within the community and enjoys travel, squash, skiing, and opera.



Eric Patel

Eric has over 20 years experience in strategy and finance with companies ranging from Fortune 100 conglomerates to start-up’s. Most recently, he was CFO of Crystal Decisions, a leading Business Intelligence and reporting software company. In his four years at Crystal, Eric helped manage their transformation from a $120MM money-losing enterprise to a $320MM run rate business, with margins well in excess of industry averages. He assisted with the sale of Crystal to Business Objects and stayed on to help manage the integration of the two firms, creating the largest BI software company. His prior experience includes various senior operating positions with University Games, Dreyer’s Grand and Haagen Dazs Ice Cream and Marakon Associates, a leading strategy consultancy. A transplanted American residing in Vancouver, Eric holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Brown University.



Judi Richardson

Judi Richardson has been described as one of the top marketing minds in business today. With an MBA from York University Judi has 20 years of corporate, entrepreneurial business and marketing experience with major brands including Starbucks, Scott Paper and Krispy Kreme. Judi spearheaded the record-breaking launch of the Krispy Kreme brand in Canada. She also championed KremeKo’s foray into Quebec. Judi, a former member of the Canadian National Ski Team, is now the principal of Richardson Management Inc., a strategic consulting company specializing in business strategy development, planning and analysis. Her company’s diverse client list has spanned technology, service, retail and consumer goods industries. Judi has held advisory, board and committee positions with Kids.now, Jugo Juice, BC Chapter of American Marketing Association, and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation among others.



Andrew Sherman

Andrew J. Sherman is one of the most recognized authorities on franchising and business growth strategies. Sherman currently leads the Franchising, Licensing and Distribution department of Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky. Andrew has authored thirteen books on the legal and strategic aspects of business growth and franchising and is regularly interviewed by The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Investor's Business Daily, The New York Times and CNN. He has served as a Professor in the MBA program at the University of Maryland since 1989 and at Georgetown University since 1995 where he teaches courses on business planning and growth strategies.

 


Laurie Baggio

Laurie Baggio joined 1-800-GOT-JUNK? in December 2001 as Director of Franchise Development. He was promoted to VP, Franchise Development in September 2002. He currently owns multiple 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchises in Portland, OR and northern New Jersey. Prior to accepting this position, Mr. Baggio was a self-employed Consultant advising technology startups in strategy, market development, and corporate development in Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA..



From December 1999 until June 2001, Mr. Baggio served as Vice President of Business Development for eTunnels, Inc. in Seattle, WA. His role encompassed market development, business development, and technology and channel partnerships. From March 1995 until November 1999, Mr. Baggio founded and was the President and CEO of Helikon Technologies Inc., a diversified technology development company based in Vancouver, BC. While there, he established, grew, and sold an Internet Service Provider division and developed multimedia products for Hasbro, Inc.
