How to recycle a real Christmas tree

There are a few options to dispose of your real tree responsibly:

  • Composting: Christmas trees can be cut into smaller pieces and composted, adding useful organic content to the compost.
  • Mulching: You can turn your tree into mulch with a wood chipper and spread it around your garden or yard to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
  • DIY projects: Repurposing your tree into a project is also a great way to use the materials after the holidays.

For an easy, stress-free disposal, we’ll come and collect your tree for you. Just make sure all ornaments, lights, tinsel, and anything you want to keep are removed before we arrive.

How to recycle an artificial Christmas tree

Recycling artificial trees can be tricky, but we make the process easy for you. If your tree is still in good condition, we’ll do our best to give it a second life in a new home.

If it can’t be reused, we’ll ensure it’s properly recycled, so the metal components can be repurposed responsibly.

Do I need to cut my tree into pieces before you arrive?

Nope! We can take your tree as is, from where it’s sitting in your home–you don’t have to move it or disassemble it. Just remember to remove any decorations, lights, and garland before we arrive.

Where do you take the real and artificial trees?

Once we collect your tree, we assess whether it can be upcycled or recycled. If your artificial tree is in good condition, we’ll donate it to a local charity or community centre, giving it a second life. For real trees or artificial ones that can’t be reused, we ensure the materials are recycled or disposed of responsibly.

Do you only take Christmas trees, or can you take other holiday items?

We can take all non-hazardous items! Whether you have one box of ornaments or a full truckload of post-holiday clutter, we’ll handle it for you and leave you with a stress-free, clean space.

Do you take other yard waste or debris besides the tree?

Yes! We can take a variety of yard waste and debris to keep your property clean. Check out our yard waste removal services to see the types of debris we take.
What if my tree is still decorated when you arrive?

We recommend removing all decorations and lights before we arrive, as some items may not be recyclable and could cause issues at the recycling facility.
